Garmin released a new beta update for the Venu 3 and Venu 3S smartwatches. After almost a month since their last build, users can now access the new Beta 9.24, ushering in several improvements and fixes to enhance the overall user experience.

Since the end of January, Garmin had not released any new firmware for these devices, leaving users eagerly awaiting new features and bug fixes. The stagnant version 8.25, distributed three months ago, left users yearning for updates to keep their devices optimized and up to date.

Beta 9.24, while sharing the same changelog as its predecessors like Beta 9.18, brings notable enhancements to the Venu 3 and Venu 3S. Among the key improvements are:

  1. Jump Rope Activity: Users can now track their jump rope workouts directly from their Venu 3 or Venu 3S, adding versatility to their fitness tracking capabilities.
  2. Support for Male Audio Prompts: With the download of new audio files, users can now receive audio prompts tailored specifically for male voices, enhancing the personalized experience during workouts.
  3. Stability Fixes: Addressing issues such as random music playback and excessive battery drain with wrist heart rate monitoring turned off, Garmin aims to provide a smoother and more reliable user experience.
  4. Enhanced Golf Activity Settings: A fix for an issue where changing settings during a golf activity could inadvertently disable scoring ensures uninterrupted gameplay and accurate performance tracking.

In addition to these improvements, Beta 9.24 introduces new icon animations and GCM translation updates, further refining the visual appeal and accessibility of the devices.

Accessing the latest beta update is straightforward. Users can navigate to the Main Menu, then Settings, followed by System, and finally Software Update to download and install Beta 9.24. It's important to note that all current and future beta builds will disable ECG functionality, except those designated as Release Candidate versions. Users are encouraged to refer to Garmin's forum post for detailed information on this matter.
