Radxa continues to make waves in the single-board computer (SBC) market with its relentless pace of releases. This month alone, the company has unveiled several new offerings, including the ZERO 3E, Rock 5C, and Rock 5C Lite. Among these releases stands out the ZERO 2 Pro, a compact yet powerful board that expands Radxa's diverse lineup.

The ZERO 2 Pro, measuring 65 x 36 mm, slightly wider than the Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, packs a punch with its robust hardware configuration. Powered by the Amlogic A311D chipset, this SBC features four ARM Cortex-A73 CPU cores, two Cortex-A53 CPU cores, and a Mali-G52 MP4 GPU. Notably, the Amlogic A311D integrates an NPU, delivering impressive theoretical AI performance of up to 5 TOPS.

Despite its diminutive size, the ZERO 2 Pro doesn't compromise on connectivity and expansion options. Equipped with a 40-pin GPIO header, a MicroSD card reader, and MIPI-CSI camera and MIPI-DSI display connectors, it offers flexibility for various projects. Additionally, the board includes ports such as Micro HDMI 2.0, USB 2.0 Type-C (OTG/Host), and USB 3.0 Type-C (Host), catering to diverse connectivity needs.

Wireless connectivity is also a highlight of the ZERO 2 Pro, supporting Bluetooth 5 and Wi-Fi 5 with an external antenna. Moreover, onboard eMMC 5.1 flash storage ensures fast and reliable data access.

Radxa has made software support a priority, offering Armbian and Manjaro images on GitHub, with Debian and Ubuntu images available on its website. While Android compatibility is touted, Radxa has yet to release official Android OS images.

The pricing strategy of the ZERO 2 Pro reflects its versatility, starting at $64.99 for the base configuration featuring 4 GB of RAM and 16 GB of eMMC flash storage. Retailers like ALLNET China and Arace Tech will offer various SKUs, catering to different needs and budgets, ranging from a $55 option with 4 GB of RAM but no storage to configurations with up to 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB of eMMC flash storage.
