One title has emerged as a standout success story of 2024: Palworld. Developed by PocketPair, this unique survival game, often described as "Pokemon with guns", has taken the gaming world by storm since its release in mid-January. Available on PC via Steam and Xbox, with day one Game Pass support, Palworld quickly captivated audiences, boasting an impressive 25 million players within its first month, including 15 million on Steam who eagerly paid for the experience.

While initially focused on bug fixes post-launch, PocketPair recently teased a glimpse into Palworld's future with the unveiling of the Palworld Arena mode during the Triple-i Initiative indie game streaming event. This mode, showcased in a brief teaser trailer, introduces a competitive third-person shooter experience where players, alongside their "Pals", engage in thrilling battles against each other. With promises of intense gameplay and strategic depth, Palworld Arena stands poised to redefine the multiplayer landscape.

Despite the excitement surrounding Palworld Arena, players eagerly anticipate the implementation of other features outlined in PocketPair's roadmap. Crossplay functionality between Xbox and PC players via Steam, server transfers and migrations, improvements to the building system, and the introduction of new islands, Pals, bosses, and technologies are all eagerly awaited additions. PocketPair's commitment to ongoing updates was recently underscored with the introduction of the game's first endgame Raid Boss fight, demonstrating their dedication to enhancing the player experience.
