The eagerly anticipated relaunch of MultiVersus is just around the corner. Less than ten days remain until the free-to-play brawling game from Player First Games and Warner Bros. Games officially goes live on May 28. This comeback follows several months offline, during which the development team dedicated their efforts to refining and enhancing the game.

To build excitement, the cinematic launch trailer was released today, unveiling two new playable characters: Jason, the iconic hockey mask-wearing serial killer from the Friday The 13th film franchise, and Agent Smith, the malevolent AI antagonist from The Matrix movie series. These new additions will join a diverse roster that already includes legendary characters like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Joker, The Iron Giant, Bugs Bunny, and many more. In the lead-up to the relaunch, the development team has been diligently updating the game's official website with information about the new version of MultiVersus. Among the most exciting additions is the Rifts Mode, which introduces a Player versus Environment (PvE) component to complement the game's online Player versus Player (PvP) modes.

Player First Games describes Rifts Mode as featuring a tutorial section to help players get started, followed by challenging Seasonal Rifts. These rifts offer unique stages, skins, characters, and mutators, designed to be both memorable and increasingly difficult as players advance. It is anticipated that some players might spend an entire season battling through these stages to reach the end. Notably, Rifts Mode also supports online co-op play with friends, allowing for shared rewards after each match.

MultiVersus will be available on multiple platforms, including PC, Sony's PS4 and PS5 consoles, and Microsoft's Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X consoles. With the relaunch date fast approaching, the anticipation among fans is reaching a fever pitch, promising a revitalized and thrilling experience for both new and returning players.
